Having been granted with official candidate state status for European Community, Turkey has also agreed a set of international conventions in the field of Proprietary and Industrial Rights Law, and harmonized internal laws with the provisions of those conventions just like other candidate states.

Today, conformance with Proprietary and Industrial Rights Law Statutes plays a critical role in the processes of product sales, release for sale or holding for commercial purposes.

It is clear that very careful and strategic steps must be taken in order to avoid breach of others’ rights and to efficiently protect your own trademark and similar industrial rights during commercial operations. In our country, Proprietary and Industrial Rights Law and Penal Courts are set up in Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir to deal with such issues, and these Courts carry our jurisdiction processes with specialized Judge and Public Prosecutor staff as well as contributions of specialized experts and attorneys.
